I am a Class Computer Monitor. I love to use computers, type up reports,
play adventures and to write electronic mail with my friend Alisi. When I
grow up I would like to be a typist on computers. We have lots of computers
in all the classrooms.
We wanted to tell you about our school's internet resources. We use an ADSL modem and have our own web and mail server which uses Linux.
Mainly we use the net for email, video mail, research, projects etc.
Years 2-6 have the net in their rooms, and we have computers for the children
in the Information Technology Centre as well as 3 in the Staffroom for the
teachers.
The Information and Technology Centre (I.T. Centre) is a quiet classroom, it is also fun because of the computers, CD's and the internet. The internet has stacks of information to look up like education, environment, gold rushes, olympics, nature, science, the planets, and heaps more. Classes use the information to do projects.
We have 8 Internet computers and 22 older computers on a network.
The I.T. Centre also has a lot of reference books and information books about loads of topics. Children can go in at lunchtimes each day. Student Research Team members help them and a teacher supervises them.
On Thursday and Friday classes go to I. T. Centre for Library lessons
and they borrow books to read at home.
We have many things at our school. We have a Information Technology Centre. We have many computers, 22 older computers on a network and 8 Internet computers. We can use the computers at lunch times and of course in class time.
Our IT Centre is also our Library. Senior classes do research with Mrs
Neil our Librarian and book borrowing with our teachers.
