Every Thursday Brookvale Public School have assembly in the afternoon. We say the School Prayer and we sing the School Song and at the end we sing the National Anthem.
Every second week we have award assemblies and the other weeks we have an Item assembly where children perform.
Each class gets three awards each, two Class Awards and a Principals Award which the teachers give out to the well behaved students or students who do really good work. Mr Richard gives a Special Principal's Cup who people have to nominate other people for. Sometimes we have guest speakers.
The Captains and Prefects of the school run the assemblies each week,
two at a time.
We are young
We're free at Brookvale School,
We're here to learn each day.We have come from lands both near and far
To meet and find our way.Through our music, sport and work
We join our hearts to sing our song.Brookvale School forever we agree
It's the place where we belong.
This is our school prayer :
This is our school,
Let peace dwell here,
Let the room be full of contentment,
Let love abide,
The love of god,
The love of one another,
Love of life itself,
Let us remember that our greatest happiness
springs from giving happiness to others.Amen.
We sing this at the end of Assembly and Mr Taylor plays the piano.
Australians all let us rejoice,
For we are young and free;
We've golden soil and wealth for toil,
Our home is girt by sea;
Our land abounds in nature's gift
Of beauty rich and rare;
In history's page let every stage
Advance Australia Fair!
In joyful strains then let us sing
"Advance Australia Fair!"
Beneath our radiant southern Cross,
We'll toil with hearts and hands;
To make this Commonwealth of ours
Renowned of all the lands;
For those who've come across the seas
We've boundless plains to share;
With courage let us all combine
To advance Australia fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing
"Advance Australia fair!"
