Staff and student representatives from Brooky attended Showcasing Student Activities
in Civics and Citizenship during Democracy Week, NSW Parliament, November 14th 2003.
Brookvale's presentation focussed on excursions and publishing information on the internet
 as a tool for motivation and learning.

representatives, cultural identities and leaders.

An internet project by 6T 2003, about NSW State Government including history,
its functions, the buildings, voting and what it does for us.

States & Territories of Australia
Class 6T 2003, researched information about the States and Territories of Australia
 The information includes photographs, fast facts, emblems, maps and links to
government and travel sites.

Endangered Animals
3/4S researched Endangered Species and published their research work as class projects,
reports and here on our school website.

Prime Ministers of Australia
Research Projects and Art Work by students in 6T, 2002 featuring the early life
and the political achievements of Australian  Prime Ministers since Federation in 1901.

Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Sports Stars
Research Projects and Artwork by students in 4/5G, 2002. Information about the
sporting achievements of many indigenous Australians in tennis,
boxing, football, athletics and netball to name just a few.

History of Brookvale Public School
In 2002, Brookvale Public School celebrated its 100 Years in Brookvale.
(lt was 115 years old, first starting in a small hall in Manly Vale).
Information includes written history, historical photographs,
newsletters and recounts from various members of staff and exstudents.

Tongan Dictionary
Year 5 & 6 Tongan Students attend Tongan classes and learn about
Tongan tradition, religion, language and culture.

Australia Since Federation
The year 2001 was the celebration of Australia's Centenary of Federation
when all Australian states joined together under one new central governemnt.
Class 4/5G traced changed that took place during this 100 years.

Streamwatch
Children from Years 5 and 6 have been involved in Steamwatch for several years.
We have been learning about the creeks, creatures, bugs,
plants, birds and animals that live in our area.

Warringah Council

before European Settlement.
