A girl making something in Tongan class.
By Lani
We have Tongan classes every Wednesday. In Tongan classes there are only 3 of us, Grace, John B. and myself. Our teacher is Mrs Thomas. We have our class in the Art and Craft room. What we learn is about our culture and our inhabitants.Last year we made a Tongan Dictonary and translated it into English which was really good.
I enjoy being in Tongan classes because I learn things that I actually did not even know.

In Tongan class, John.B., Lani and I go to Tongan class in the Art and craft room. We do a lot of Tongan work, we even translate english to Tongan or even the other way around.
The thing I like about Tongan class is that we learn a lot of Tongan. The thing I hate about Tongan class is that I sometimes don't understand what Miss Thomas talks about in Tongan but I suppose we're really lucky to be Tongans. We have a really great time in Tongan class.

On Mondays and Wednesdays our school has LOTE, LOTE stands for (Language Other Than English). The languages that we learn are Tongan and Italian. Our Italian teachers name is Signora Raffaele and our Tongan teachers name is Mrs Thomas. Our class 6T only has it on Wednesdays.
In Italian and Tongan we learn words, numbers, the alphabet, learn how to talk in the language and how to greet people in that language. I learn Tongan because I am Tongan.
The Tongan Alphabet is Aa Ee Ff Hh Ii Kk Ll Mm Nn NGng Oo Pp Ss Tt Uu Vv. Today we learnt the words of different clothes, food, animals and people.
