Kindy to Year 6 have Tongan lessons but only Tongan children learn Tongan. What we do at Tongan is we learn how to speak in Tongan, write in Tongan and more.
Right now Year 5/6 Tongans are making a Tongan Dictionary. The letters of the alphabet in Tongan are A E F H I K L M N NG O P S T U V it's less than the English alphabet.
Once we cooked some Tongan food and Mr Taylor, Mr Richard and some other teachers ate with us. When they finished eating they said that it was nice. Some of the foods were taro, corn beef, cabbage and many more.

Tongan children at our school have Tongan lessons and the classes are Kindy - Six. We have two lessons every week and they on Monday and Tuesday. Year 5 and 6 children are working on the Tongan Dictionary. We only have 16 letters in our Alphabet. They are A E F H I K L M N NG O P S T U V.
We also learn the words of Tongan and I'll tell some words like Puaka (Pig), Pulu (Corn Beef), Sipi (Lamb) and Uliuli (Black).
On Thursday we have Scripture and we talk about God for a little while and then have a little prayer and then we sing songs and then we finish with a little prayer. We do this as a Tongan Scripture Group.

In Tongan class we learn about different types of colours like red is kulokula, yellow is engeenga, pink is pinki, blue is pulu and black is uliui.
Also we learn about the Tongan traditions like when you go to a persons house you have to let the elders sit on the ground and the young ones sit on the floor.
Our alphabet is different from the English one because our one is only A E F H I K L M N NG O P S T U V but the the Australian one is A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z.
In Tongan we eat different food like Puaka (pig) Kapapulu (corn beef).
In Tongan class we learn lots about the Tongan culture. I enjoy Tongan class.

Tongan children in Kindy to Six have two Tongan Lesson's, one on Monday and one on Tuesday. We learn about language, our nouns and verb's. Year six right now are making a Tongan Dictionary to make book and to put it on the School Home Page. We only have 16 letter's in ourAlphabet.
Some food we eat is Kapa Pulu is Corn beef and Lu is Cabbage. We also eat puaka (pig). We have lots of fun doing all the pictures and learning new words.
We learn all the colours like Lanu Blu (blue) Lanu E'enga'enga (Yellow).
Next year our Tongan Teacher is organising an excursion to Tonga.
