The ED Class, or 3-6W as it is otherwise known, is a special class dedicated to assisting students, who have learning, behavioural and / or, emotional difficulties.
The class is open to students in Years 3 – 6 from all schools across the Northern Beaches, and operates on a half-day model, children attend at Brookvale until just before lunch then return to their home school. The class caters for up to six students at a time, and the maximum stay is usually 12 months.
During a regular week, students participate in lessons from all KLA's, in the form of Integrated Study Units, which are individualised to meet student needs and abilities. There is also a strong emphasis on Social Skills, Self-Esteem and Self-Improvement.
This term, we have studied Fast Food, Computers, Space,
Animals and Ocean Life. Next term looks just as interesting, with the topics:
Disasters, Mythical Creatures, World War 1 and The Brain, just to name a
few.
This is what our students say
