Kimbriki Tip

by Alex

On Friday the 31st  October, 3/4S went to Kimbriki Recycling Centre. There we met Pen who gave us a tour.

Next we went to the Eco garden. Peter showed us worms. He even let us touch a worm and look at it with a magnifying glass. He showed us a worm farm. Next he showed us around his garden. The plant I liked the best was the one smelling like lemon.

Afterwards we went back to school and had lunch.

I had a great day.

On the 31st October, 3/4S went to Kimbriki Waste Disposal Centre and Eco Garden. We went by minibus and left at 9:45 a.m. When we got there, Mrs. Sherman introduced us to our guide Pen.

First we saw a Recycling Area with cardboard, paper, plastic bottles and toys. Next we saw wood and mulch. After that we saw a Dinosaur looking machine that ate rocks and concrete. Next we saw a rubbish area with things like plastic bags and other stuff.

We went to the Eco Gardens and had recess and we were introduced to Peter. He talked to talked to us about worms. We had a walk around the garden and saw beautiful plants and flowers.

We made compost with food scraps, mulch and water. It was disgusting because the food scraps were soft and slimy but luckily we had gloves.

When we went home I was sad because it was such a fun day. I enjoyed the day and it was very fun. I’d love to go back again. It was really enjoyable.

On the 31 October 2003, 3/4S went to the Eco Gardens.  We took a minibus. There we met Pen and she showed us around Kimbriki Tip.

We saw mulch, cardboard, paper, toys, and things like old tyres, soil, wood, doors, metal and worms. After that we had two biscuits.

Then we met Peter who showed us around the Eco Gardens. There we saw lots of plants like lemon grass, banana trees and other types of plants. After that we received a mini bin.

We had a great time at the tip and when we got back to school we had a special lunch.
