Every Wednesday Gabriella and I go to the Extension Studies Centre which
is in Balgowlah Boys High School. We go there for half the year.
In the room there are children from about six other schools which include
Balgowlah, Harbord, Allambie and a few more. We always do fun activities
like big feasts, Medieval days, castles, calligraphy and much more.
Yesterday we went to the oval to see how and why the sun bag will rise.
When we got there we spread out the sun bag and three people were chosen
to run around the oval until it was full of air. There were a few rips in
it but we fixed it by using sticky tape. Our teacher tied a string to it
and after a few minutes it began to rise and we had to record the height
and minutes on a piece of paper.
When we got back we had Creative Writing. We got a picture and we had
to describe it. Then we gave our books to another person and they had to
draw your picture by reading your description.
Next week we will be studying Castles and Calligraphy.

Every Wednesday, for the first semester of the year, I go to Extension
Studies Centre at Balgowlah Boys High School.
Extension Studies is a program that takes a few children chosen from different
schools to participate in doing extra, advanced, and a different kind of
school work. The work we do at school is mostly routine, but the work
we do at Extension Studies is different every week.
For the first couple of weeks, Stefan and I have already dissected a lamb's
brain, learnt about UV Light from the sun, have done experiments, learnt
to juggle and have met new friends. In Term Two of Extension Studies,
the whole class gets to go to Wonderland for a WHOLE DAY. Our teacher,
Linda, says that when we're there we will learn about the friction of rides,
and we will also get 'hands on' experience.
We have had fun so far, and hope to have a great semester at Extension
Studies.
