On the 17th of December Year Six went down to the Rock House in Brookvale to do indoor rock climbing. When we came there we were introduced to our teacher and then we put on our harnesses. The five twelve year olds had to learn how to belay.
Belaying is helping the climber climb by supporting the climber with a rope. There were over fifteen walls all with different difficulty levels. I preferred the easy walls and a made it to the top a couple of times. After rock climbing we went to McDonalds.
It was fun and tiring and I enjoyed it a lot.

On the 17th of December, all of Year 6 went to the Rock House (an indoor rock climbing centre) instead of the movies. There was more than 15 different walls and 4 levels of difficulty for the hand grips. easy, medium, hard, and very hard. The geckos marked the easy tracks. We needed to wear special safety harnesses with multiple connections.
For rock climbing you need 2 people, a climber (of course) and a belayer, who loosens the rope so that whoever is climbing can climb, it is also the belayers job to feed the rope back into a loophole so that the climber can come down. Last year I could only conquer one wall but this year I climbed to the top of 6, including a skinny ladder. There was also a rope.
Some of the special tracks include obstacles like bumps and places where the wall looked like it caved in. Some hand grips were round, some had handles and some were merely bumps in the wall.

On the 17th of December, Year 6 went to the Rock House. The Rock House is a name of an indoor rock climbing centre. There were over 15 walls and has a rope and a ladder in the middle of all the walls. There were a couple of practice walls.
To rock climb you need two people. You need a climber and a belayer. There are 2 harnesses for the climber and there is one harness for the belayer. A belayer needs to pull a rope so when a climber falls the climber won't hurt himself by falling down to the ground. When the climber is going down the belayer needs to let go the rope a little at a time. The climber needs to be spreading his legs on the wall so he won't smash into the wall.
I climbed 3 walls, a rope and a ladder. It was fun

On the 17th of December 2001, Year Six and Mr Thompson, Mrs Milner and Mr Richard walked to the Indoor Rock Climbing Centre for a bit of fun since we're leaving this year. We got there at around 9:45 am.
When we got there we put on our harness and had a few quick lessons on how to climb, abseil and boulder. Only the 12 year olds could do the bouldering and everyone could climb. Everyone had at least five climbs each or maybe even more. We were there for about 2 and a half hours.
Then we all walked down to McDonalds for lunch, it was a really yummy lunch. Some people got Happy Meals and got really cute little toys.
That was one of the best days that I spent with all of my friends.
