Sydney Harbour

By Emily

Sydney has a huge beautiful Harbour. Sometimes we go on excursions and we catch a ferry from Manly to the City. You can see many sites like Sydney Harbour Heads, Fort Denison, The Opera House, and Sydney Harbour Bridge.

It is sometimes rough and we get splashed if we stand at the front. There are plenty of nice beaches and bushland to have a picnic or just walking.

People often catch fish or sail on the Harbour too. In the harbour you can sometimes see whales pass by or schools of fish.

Captain Philip started the first European colony in Sydney in 1788. Some Aborigines fought against them.

On a bushwalking excursion, Year 6 stop to take in the view of Middle Head.
Many areas around Sydney Harbour are bushland and part of the extensive Sydney Harbour National Park. Two students rest beside Aboriginal rock carvings of fish and whales.
