I had to stand still like a tree!

By Allen

On the 7th of March after lunch we went to a show called the Snake Tails. This show was about snakes, which ones are dangerous and which are not.

A person called Bob was the one who told us about reptiles, turtles and snakes, he told us that the most poisonous snake was the Fierce Snake, the second most dangerous snake was the Brown Snake. The Brown snake was always grumpy, the fourth dangerous was the Tiger Snake.

He also brought a blue tongue lizard and the lizard was his pet, he called the blue tongue lizard Pinky. He even brought in a Black Headed Python and I got the python around my neck after the show.

He picked out a brave boy could Mitchell to stand like a tree while the blue tongue lizard climbed on him.

He bought in a turtle to tell us what was the different about turtles and tortoise. He said the tortoise could not swim because of his heavy home.

He said that the turtle would be able to swim around the ocean, the turtle could stay under water for 8 whole hours.

At the end we got our bags and 3 of us were helping him pack up.

The dangerous snakes were kept in glass cages.

On the 7 of March, a man named Bob came to our school to talk about reptiles. We saw 5 snakes 1 Blue Tongue Lizard and 1 Bearded Dragon Lizard. Bob told us that snakes are deaf and can hardly see.

The most poisonous snake is the Fierce Snake, the 2nd most is the Brown Snake, the 3rd is the Red Belly Black Snake. Bob got 2 people to come and let the Blue Tongue Lizard lick them on their nose. The 2 people were Matilda in Year 6 and Jack in Year 1.

The Blue Tongue Lizard had a name and it was Pinky. Then a Bearded Dragon had a little fun. A boy named Michell came to the front and let the lizard climb on him then Bob placed the lizard on Michell head. Everyone giggled at the lizard because of where it was.

Everyone had lots of fun at the Snake Tails Show, everyone thanked Bob for coming to show us the snakes and the lizards.

On the 7th of March 2001 a guy named Bob came to Brookvale Public School and talked to us about turtles, lizards and snakes. They were scary but cool. Bob said that we should wear baggy pants and leather shoes when we go bushwalking. Baggy pants and leather shoes can't break so if a snake bites you, it won't really hurt.

There were Fierce Snake, Brown Snake, Tiger Snake, Red-Belly Black Snake, Blue Tongue Lizard, Beared Dragon, Long Necked Turtle and a Black Headed Phyton. The Fierce Snake is the deadliest snake in the whole world. The Brown Snake is one of the poisonous snakes and a very cranky snake. If you hit it, it will bite you and in 20 minutes your dead. The Tiger Snake is another poisonous snake and it's called a tiger snake because it has got stripes. The Red-Belly Snake is a very shy snake and and if it bites you, you'll get very sick. It eats Brown Snakes. Snakes are covered in scales and in Indonesia they kill 3 million snakes a year.

Lizards don't climb and Matilda got kissed by a Blue Tongue Lizard. Bearded Lizards are fast but they are one of the slowest dragons and they stick. Mitchell was picked to let a Bearded Lizard climb on him and when it was put into his head, it did a pooh.

The Long Neck Turtle has a very good eye site and it's shell is hard as a rock. It's not very heavy or else the turtle will sink. It is a fast swimmer.

At the end, when we were packing up, Bob lifted up the Brown Snake and it tried to bite him.

It was a nice and fun day and I hope Bob will come back soon to tell us more about snakes and lizards and turtles.

The long neck turtle.
