On Friday the 14th of September, a team of children from Northbridge Public School came to Brookvale Public School to skip. They were from a group called Jump Rope for Heart. The group raised money to helped people with heart problems.

The children and their coach performed a lot of skipping tricks. Before they performed the tricks, two children gave a speech about what they did and who they were.

Skipping is a fun activity. To skip, you would need to have a special kind of rope made for skipping, which has a handle at each end. You hold the handles one in each hand, and keep on swinging the rope over your head, then you have to jump over the rope when it gets near your feet.

It was very fascinating and it was amazing to see what you can do with just a skipping rope. It was so much fun, and I really hope that we could see them perform next year.

After they left, we all tried to do what they did because it was fantastic.

On the 14th of September a skipping team came from Northbridge Public School to skip for us. After lunch all the classes came to the assembly lines where we always line up in the morning.

When they had arrived they introduced themselves then they put on some music so that they can skip to. The youngest girl was in Year 1 and she started when she was two and a half years old. She was very clever.

They jumped with two ropes which is called Dutch skipping. There were many others tricks they did like handstands then they stood up and started skipping. They skipped really fast and they were so good. They said that we could clap if we liked anything.

Two of their children had to go and ask a teacher and a student to stand up and skip. At the end of the show they all got an ice block and it was fun.

On the 14th of September some kids came from Northbridge Public School. They showed us lots of tricks like Double Rope. Double Rope is when 2 ropes go round without stopping then someone jumps in.

The youngest person was a girl named Jessica. She is in Year 1, Jessica started when she was very young. She is very good at skipping especially at Criss Cross.

At the end they did a trick that is called Triangle Jump Rope. At the very end Brooky thanked them for coming.

On the 14th of September some students from Northbridge Public School came to Brookvale Public School to show us their skills at skipping. They first introduced their names then they did some basic tricks.

Then they did some difficult tricks and after they did their tricks they got a teacher and a student to skip with them. They did some cool and hard tricks that Brookvale School kids couldn't do.

They did some cartwheels while skipping and criss-cross too. I really enjoyed it.
