On Thursday 23rd of August we had our Year 6 Raffle Draw at our school to help the Year Six students go on their excursion to Canberra. We had the Raffle drawn in our school hall after lunch one day. There were 102 prizes such as restaurant meals, pizzas, soft toys, hair styling vouchers, gift vouchers and lots, lots, more.

When everyone was in the hall sitting down the raffle started. Matilda and Monica helped pull out the raffle tickets one at a time and Mr. Taylor called out who won the prizes.

After the raffle we had a lucky sellers draw for the 25 people that got called out. After that the raffle was finished and every one went home.

It was a really good raffle and raised more than $3 000.

On 23rd of August, Brookvale Public School held a raffle to help the Year 6 pupils fund raise for their trip to Canberra. The raffle was to be held in our school assembly hall.

There were more than one hundred prizes donated to the school - pizza vouchers, car repairs, tools and vouchers, soft toys, food vouchers, haircut vouchers, clothing, games and almost anything. Most prizes were donated from the companies around our school.

The raffle was really exciting, listening to the winner's names being called out and the surprise when you heard a familiar name. A lot of parents came to watch the raffle being drawn and were listening carefully.

Prizes were also given out to the students who sold raffle tickets. Twenty five prizes were on a table, and when your name was called, you would get up, and receive your Zoo voucher and Cheese Burger voucher and certificate and choose a small prize before leaving the stage.

Three families got prizes for selling the most tickets. The prizes were toys and games, something from Manly Leagues Football team, and some movie tickets.

The raffle was a very exciting event, and I really enjoyed seeing people receiving prizes, and looking happy. I hope next year's raffle will be just as exciting as this one. This year's raffle was the best raffle we ever had in this school.

On the 23rd of August, Brookvale Public School held a raffle to help fundraise for the Year 6 students to go to Canberra. Students had to sell the raffle tickets. The raffle draw was held in the school hall after lunch.

Some of the prizes were things like getting your car fixed, soft cuddly toys, winter shirts, vouchers, artist sets, games and a lot of other things. There were more than 100 prizes. People and  companies in Brookvale had donated the prizes.

Lots of people came to watch the raffle to see if they had won anything, so they had to listen very carefully. When they heard their name called they would stay seated and collect their prize the next day.

A girl and her family won first prize for selling the most tickets and two other families won second and third prize for selling the second and third most amount of tickets. The prize for selling the most amount of tickets were toys and games, the prize for selling the second most amount of tickets were footballs, footy jumpers and things, the prize for selling the third most amount of tickets were movie tickets.

I think that this year's raffle has been the best yet. I really enjoyed myself and I think everyone else did as well. I won a prize too.
