On Thursday the 22nd of November Year Five had to read out there speech to become a Prefect or Captain.
We had a lot of practise with Mr Taylor on Wednesdays. Mr Taylor told us to write our names on a piece of paper and he was going to draw the names out.
The girls went first and then the boys. We were all very nervous. A lot of visitors and parents came to listen to us. The Year Six came up and took a picture of us saying our speech.
Grace was the first to go up and say her speech. I was the sixth person to go on the stage and read my speech.

On Thursday the 22nd of November Year 5 students read their Captain and Prefect Speech on Assembly. Mr Taylor helped us with our speeches and we had two rehearsals so we didn't make mistakes.
The girls went first, everybody was very nervous and we all went well. Then the boys went they went well too.
It was a very good Assembly and everybody listened to the speeches.
On Friday, Mr Richard went around to Year 2, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 children with ballot papers for them to vote. They would choose the children they think are best for our Captains and Prefects next year.
