On Tuesday, the 22nd of May some Brookvale students participated the Maths Competition from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. The Maths Competition is for students from overseas as well as NSW to attend.
Each student will receive a certificate when their results come out. If a student achieved a percentage from 70% to 100% will receive a Credit, or Distinction or High Distinction. Credit is the top 20%, Distinction is the top 10% and High Distinction is the top 5%.
I participated in the Maths Competition and it wasn't that hard. My friends, Matilda and Annalisa were there as well. Mr Richard, our principal of the school, handed out the papers and pencils. He gave us instructions how to fill out the form, how much time we have and told us when to start.
The Year 6 had 1 hour and 50 questions. There was also 5 free responses, which are ones that you answer and write it out, not the same as multiple choice. Multiple Choice questions are answers that you can choose from.
I just hope we all did well.

On May 22nd, our school had a Maths Competition in the Library for Years 3-6. It was run by the University Of New South Wales.
The test time was 1 hour, there were total 50 questions. There were 5 Maths questions for free response. There was a Question Booklet and an Answer Sheet for you to write your answers on. They were hard for some people and easy for some others.
When the test was finished, we had to hand in the Answer Sheet and took the Question Booklet home.

On the 22nd of May, Children from Years 3 and up participated in the NSW University Maths Competition. The competition was not compulsory but if you wanted to go in it, it would cost you $5
I did the Year Six test and the first few questions were easy but it got harder as I went on. It was hard for some people but easy for others.
Years 3, 4 and 5 got 40 questions and 45 minutes and Year Six had 50 questions and an hour to finish them.
When the results come out we all get a certificate.

On the 22nd of May children in Years 3 to 6 had a Maths Competition. It wasn't like ordinary tests. People who wanted to do this test got to do it but had to pay five dollars.
Years 3, 4 and 5 had 40 questions while Year 6 had 50. I did the Year 6 test.
It was easy except the last 10 questions, they were very challenging.
