On Tuesday the 5th of June it was World Environment Day. Every country around the world celebrated this day. At our school all classes from Kinder to Year Six participated.

We got most of our tools from Warringah Council they also donated the plants and the mulch. The people that helped us were Warringah Council workers Michael & Jim and the parents. Firstly we started with Kinder then other classes.

All the plants we planted were Australian native plants. With the plants we made a rainforest because Brooky use to be a rainforest. The older classes did not plant the plants they did the mulch. We carried the mulch in bins so we could move it to put it around the plants at different places.

World Environment was fun and doing the mulch was fun too. I hope I will do it again. It was great helping the environment.

On Tuesday the 5th of June our school planted trees and carried mulch around for the plants.

First KP then 1/2K with SCL, then 3/4S, 4/5G and then 5/6T. Our class moved mulch and fertilizer around.

My group used 2 spades, a wheel barrow and our hands. We got the leaf compost which was full of worms and put it around plants. It will give the plants food to help them grow.

We learned that trees help us breathe and how to look after plants. We had a great day.

On Tuesday, June 5th, the whole school participated in World Environment Day. The younger classes like Kindy and Years 1 and 2 planted new trees up behind the Canteen. The rest of the school helped with the mulch in separate times.

We emptied the bins and went to a HUGE pile of mulch, filled the bin and took it to some gardens then some people spread it with shovels. The pile of mulch was smoking, because in the middle it gets very hot and if it is left in a pile too long it will self ignite and catch on flames.

Even though it was hard work I guess it was worth it for the plants. I liked it.

On Tuesday the 5th of June it was the World Environment Day. Every country around the world planted trees and celebrated World Environment Day.

Our school planted Australian native plants. The plants were organized by our local Council called Warringah Council.

Some of the parents helped and we had to move mulch because the other classes already planted plants. The girls had to do the soil.

When we all finished we all had lunch we all had fun moving mulch and soil.

On the 5th of June, our school participated in World Environment Day. Our class separated in three groups and my group laid mulch in the garden.

We carried it in rubbish bins and it was really heavy. The other groups laid mulch in the other gardens. It was a tough job.

It was good to do something good for the environment & make the school look better.
