On the 5th of June, Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 went in to the English Competition but we could choose if we wanted to go into the Competition. Some of my friends and I went into it. As soon as we got upstairs we had to get our pencils and go down to the Library where Mr. Richard gave us our papers.

The first sheet Mr. Richard gave us was a sheet where we had to write our names down. On the sheet there were two big rectangles where we had to write our Surname and our first name and then colour in the letter - bubbles below. We had to write down what year we were in and if we were female or male, then there was a question - Was English the language you  first spoke? You had to answer Yes or No. We wrote down the address below and on the other side was were we had to put down the answers. Mr. Richard then gave us our booklet where there were the questions we had to answer on the answer sheet.

I really enjoyed the English Competition and I hope I get a good result and I will go to the English Competition next year.

On  Tuesday the 5th of June, some people in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 did the English Competition  in the Library, we had to bring a rubber and a pencil. When we got there, we had to sit separately so we couldn't copy each other.

When he gave it to us we had to fill in our name. The Year 5 and 6 had to answer 60 questions in 60 minutes. We also got an answer booklet and also we could do working out and solve problems if we needed to.

When I did it I didn't do that very good but it still was fun, so I hope I do better next year.

In June, Years 3, 4, 5, and 6 participated in the New South Wales University English Competition. The test was for people who paid to participate in the competition and after a few months later, you will receive a certificate showing your result. For every year, they give you different test questions and the older the people are, the harder the test is.

I was doing a Year 5 test and you had to shade in the tiny oval so the computer could read it. They would put it in the computer so it could mark the answer sheet. We had to shade the ovals very carefully so the computer could read it.

The booklets (Also known as test papers) were usually red, and so were the answer sheets so it could match the the test paper. The test had multiple choice answers and but only one of them was right.

Some of the questions were hard but I managed to choose a answer. I hope I get to do it next year, it is exciting getting the results.
