They told us about how to get out of a rips and what a rip looks like. They told and showed us about the equipment they use.

They had a equipment like when you resuscitate someone that it will do the breathing for you instead of you breathing for them and it was called a oxyviva. There was another machine that when you stop breathing or your heart stops beating it shocks you so you can start breathing again.

We even learnt how to use a floating tube when your in trouble in the water. There was a demonstration from John and Jason.

We all learnt a lot.

Watch out for the signs.

On Tuesday the 20th of November 2 Lifeguards from Warringah Council Jason and Heath talked to us about Beach Safety.

They had an overhead projector, there was a lot of pictures we also talked about many things such as where to swim, what to do if you get in trouble, to not leave your rubbish on the beaches, not to take animals to the beach, not to turn your back to the surf and many other things.

We learnt to swim between the flags, don't dive near rocks, don't go to the rocks without someone, if you get in trouble don't panic. some equipment that lifeguards use are mega phone, flippers, 2 way radio, Quad bikes, surf board, first aid kit, defibrillator and an oxyviva. I had a lot of fun listening to the talk I hope I they come again.

First they showed the whole class the pictures then they asked us what it means and they were asking us questions and then they put the lifesaving belt around john to show the class how they save people.

Asked us more questions and john and homer took photos of the pictures and there was this really disgusting photo of a bunch of blue bottles.

I really liked having the lifeguards hear so I know how to save someone so if someone is drowning and there's no lifeguards there.
